The Credit Unions Care Foundation of Virginia provides the following programs in pursuit of its mission.
Financial Education:
Consumer education is a hallmark of credit unions' service to members and the community. Credit union philosophy places critical importance on helping members achieve financial independence and improve their standard of living.
Credit unions recognize, however, that consumer-friendly products and services are only part of the equation in helping members achieve their dreams - products and services must be coupled with consumer education to help ensure members can make sound financial choices.
Charitable Giving:
Credit unions practice a "People Helping People" philosophy.
An important part of that philosophy is our long history of social responsibility, including the support of charitable and community causes and the promotion of financial literacy.
Virginia's credit unions proudly volunteer thousands of hours and millions of dollars each year to the betterment of their communities and toward the education of consumers.
Our charity-of-choice is the Children's Miracle Network, an organization of 170 children's hospitals across North America. Virginia's credit unions have been partnered with CMN since 2003 and have raised more than $1 million for the charity in that time..
